Her hair had other ambitions.
King Telos drew the brush through one stubborn knot, and Miria tilted her head with a wince.
“Father.”
“I know.”
“You said that before the last three attacks.”
“They were not attacks. They were negotiations.”
“With my hair?”
“With a remarkably determined enemy.”
From the beds behind them came a badly concealed laugh.
Miria looked into the mirror and found her brothers watching. Nicholas had pulled his blanket to his chin, pretending innocence. Alex had not bothered. He was grinning openly.
